Tell me more about pecans!

Updated by Brandy

What are pecans?

Pecans are a type of tree nut native to North America. They have a hard, outer shell covering, which protects the nut. Pecans are known for their rich, buttery flavor and are often used in baking, cooking, and as a snack. For this reason, we use them in some of our Grain Free Cookies!

Can pecan shell fragments show up in Siete Cookies?

During the harvesting and shelling process, tiny fragments of the pecan shell can occasionally separate from the nut, and there is a very small chance these fragments can make their way into Siete Cookies.

While these occurrences are quite rare and typically pose no significant health risk, since pecan shells are organic, non-toxic material, our partners take great measures to reduce the presence of shells and provide the highest quality products. For example, our partners have specialized machines and highly trained individuals who thoroughly inspect the nuts for shells at various stages throughout the separation process.

What can I do if I find a shell fragment in Siete Cookies?

Safety and quality are at the forefront of everything we do, so if you ever find a pecan shell in one of our products, please contact our Customer Delight team at hola@sietefoods.com, so we can investigate the matter and address any concerns.
